Bloomsbury Quarter:
Vernon & Sicilian

Bloomsbury Quarter is a mixed-use campus with office and retail spaces available in Holborn. Each existing building in the Quarter has an individual colour palette, but for its biggest office space the client wanted a way to make this space really stand out from the rest of the brand.

As the brand is vibrant and playful, a great way to bring life to this sub-brand is to introduce a range of illustrations. We worked with illustrator Kate Snell and collaborated with her to create a range of beautiful illustrative assets that can playfully interact with the rest of the brand. We went for a flat illustrative style which felt reminiscent of some contemporary Italian illustrations that inspired us.

As the name of the development is ‘Vernon & Sicilian’, and it resides upon Sicilian Avenue, an Italian greyhound felt like a fitting adorable mascot for this building. The idea would be for the greyhound to be in different poses playing around with the existing brand in unexpected ways.

The Brand

For the upcoming construction of Bloomsbury Quarter Office & Retail space, window vinyls and hoardings have been designed to be created very soon, making use of illustrations I helped create.
